Job profile

As Design Engineer you are responsible to create CAD models/ manufacturing drawings, BOM for sub-systems used in screening equipments. The job is about providing engineering support to mainly Lahti PA within SMRT in Current Product Engineering, New product Development Engineering and Order based Engineering activities..

Experience / exposure towards mining/construction or heavy machinery industry data is regarded as a merit.

Good ability to speak and write in English are prerequisites in this job.

The main responsibilities are as follows:

Creation of 3D model designs to meet the defined functional requirements of the product
Design to be simple, engineered to reduce cost and selecting appropriate materials
Good in designing fabricated structural weldment including bolts
Experience in bearing & motor selection including calculation
Experience in basic design calculations – beam bending, stress calculation
Exposure to standards on materials and safety for the design
Creation of manufacturing drawings including sizing of welds as needed
Creation of BOM / ECN for release of drawings for production
To be able to verify design using basic principles of strength of materials / engineering mechanics

Your profile

You have a university degree in Mechanical engineering / master’s in mechanical engineering or another relevant field (or equivalent) and between 5-7 years of design experience. You have a solid track record of validating the designing, simplifying the design and reducing the cost of manufacturing and at times do the needed engineering calculations.

At least 2 years of experience in Solidworks tool
Experience in AutoCAD for drafting works
Good experience in Teamcenter
Experience in UG-Nx is an added advantage
Good Oral & Written Communication in English
