The product offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling, and materials handling.
Key performance areas
The Sourcing Specialist supports the overall strategic direction associated with assigned commodity responsibilities and directly supports Alachua production. In this role, you will be responsible for proactively assisting in the development of sourcing strategies that are aligned with business and program needs and execution while ensuring quality, delivery, capacity, and cost targets will meet or exceed expectations. Working with the local Sourcing and Engineering units to ensure optimal sourcing support for providing material cost reduction recommendations related to first article pricing and design change for improved manufacturability efficiencies and material quality.
Additionally, the Sourcing Specialist will:
- Ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with Company Values and current Company Policies and Procedures, including Supplier Sustainability initiatives.
- A thorough understanding of strategic sourcing and category management techniques is required.
- Experience with manufacturing processes and commodity experience with “electrical” based commodities is required;
- Contract manufacturing for electrical control panels, cabinets, and wire harnesses.
- Liaison between engineering and suppliers for electrical component deviations/alternatives to keep the production schedule on track.
- Sourcing project management experience with complex multi-year New Product Development activity (NPD).
- Experience with Mechanical commodities such as bearings, roller chains, and other types of components is a plus.
- Experience with Indirect materials and services is a plus.
- Strong Negotiation Skills. Experience with multi-year contracts where material content tracks to a published steel index.
- Familiarity with production costing, inventory control, and supply chain strategies.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of Job Costing, including materials, labor, and transportation.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and planning capabilities.
- Ability to read and understand CAD drawings.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP and their applications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to function independently and produce results that meet standards of quality, timeliness, and acceptability with minimal supervision and general direction.
- Fluency in both written and oral English; Spanish is a plus.
Your profile
You possess a minimum of (5) years of professional-related work experience, including previous material sourcing and procurement experience utilizing global and domestic supply chains for products and components. Possess experience with manufacturing processes and commodity experience with “electrical” based commodities, including wire harnesses, control panels, motors/components & some mechanical items.
You also possess:
- Strong Negotiation Skills: Experience with multi-year contracts where material content tracks to a published steel index.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of Job Costing, including materials, labor, and transportation.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and planning capabilities.
- Ability to function independently and produce results that meet standards of quality, timeliness, and acceptability with minimal supervision and general direction.
- Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally
- ISM CPSM and/or APICS CPIM or CSCP certification preferred
