Position Overview
Sandvik is seeking a dynamic and customer-oriented individual to join our team as Sales Manager specializing in Crushing and Screening equipment. The Sales Manager will play a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction, retaining and growing our Crushing and Screening business with existing customers through effective communication, technical expertise, and sales acumen, while also generating new sales opportunities.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for identifying plant, equipment and aftermarket sales opportunities within a defined customer region. Where current and new business opportunities exist, the position should take responsibility for the sales development.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for managing the sales of crushing and screening equipment and aftermarket. Directly managing a team of front-line sales staff, actively involved in the field with salespeople and customers. The person may also have their own sales territory or portfolio of customers for which they serve as the designated salesperson, in some cases assigned to manage specific distributor relationships.
Create business plans, budgets and forecasts for allocated customers.
Conduct market analyses, track industry trends, monitor sales performance and prepare reports.
Responsible for the preparation of proposals and estimating for tenders & quotations in a timely and professional manner.
Managing all aspects of the sales process from customer enquiry to handover to Projects following award.
Support review of the commercial terms with aid from the Commercial Manager.
Utilization of CRM database and sales processes.
Work effectively across the business with other key stakeholders to help increase selling opportunities of Sandvik Rock Processing products.
Whether or not they play this hybrid sales/relationship management/manager role, the sales manager is ultimately accountable for meeting established sales goals in his or her geography via effective management of the assigned sales team, and by maintaining an active presence with customers in the market.
Review and monitor sales performance periodically and refine sales strategy as required by management.
Take accountability for management of budgets and forecasts (including A&S costs).
Help develop business and relationships through Industry events and customer interactions.
Take initiative to uncover potential opportunities and champion within the business.
Performs other related duties as assigned by superior.
Education, Experience & Competencies
Bachelor's degree in engineering with a preference in Mechanical or Process. Equivalent relative experience may be considered.
Demonstrated experience or knowledge of mining process plant, especially the crushing and screening process. Familiarity with the mining industry is highly preferred.
Proficiency in sales techniques, negotiation, and contract management to drive sales and service contracts.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information, deliver product presentations, and negotiate with customers.
Resilient, proactive sales and thriving under pressure, with a strong sense of self-motivation and a passion to win.
Advanced English proficiency
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Willingness to travel as needed.
