Supply Automation Engineer

Business Unit Automation is driving an exciting and revolutionary transformation in the mining industry. This industry is going totally digital, which has a radical impact on our customers’ way of thinking and the way they run their businesses. Sandvik is the global market leader in this area, offering cutting edge digital products and solutions for its customers worldwide. Our offering includes the AutoMine® product family, which provides solutions for fully automated and robotic mining technologies for underground and surface mining.

We are now looking for a proactive and innovative Supply Automation Engineer to our team. This is a full-time job and based in Tampere, Finland at our home office in Tulli Business Park located in the city center.

About the job

As a Supply Automation Engineer, you will manage product structure creation principles and ensure the documentation of them. You will be responsible for

  • Customer Product Structure and Item Management in BU Automation
  • Creating and configuring the product structure for Automation systems and OnBoard Retrofit Kits according to customer order
  • Product Configuration and Configuration Maintenance in Supply
  • Giving technical and detailed item level support for BU Automation TSD’s and support the spare part item creation in cooperation with R&D Designers
  • Factory function at our production site. This consists of assembly, manufacturing and production testing (FAT) and testing facilities and development of proceeding functions. You will support them with detailed technical information and knowledge. You will also be responsible for the production development, quality and information sharing together with production people at the site
  • License management in BU Automation, creating and maintaining licenses for AutoMine® products

You work in close cooperation with several internal and external stakeholders to optimize system and processes and improve working efficiency.

About you

You have a suitable technical educational background (e.g. Engineer or Master of Science) and previous experience in similar role within automation, supply chain, manufacturing, testing, electrical design, or relevant environment. A solution-focused mindset and good interpersonal skills are required to be successful in this job. Your way of working is systematic and well organized and remains also under pressure. Practical approach and problem-solving skills are highly appreciated. The ability to speak and write fluently in Finnish and English is required in this job.
