Product Safety Lead

Product Compliance team, as part of Technology Development and Services organization in Digital Mining Technologies Division are now looking for a highly motivated and experienced Product Safety Lead to join our team to be based in Tampere (Myllypuro) or Turku, Finland.

About the team

Team comprises subject matter experts in sustainability, product safety, product liability, and cybersecurity. We provide services and expertise to all SMR product divisions to support the safety, security, sustainability and compliance of all our products. We also develop and maintain shared processes, tools, systems, and procedures and facilitate cross-divisional collaboration and information sharing.

About your role

As the Product Safety Lead within our product compliance team, you will coordinate safety activities and serve as the primary contact for product division safety teams. You will develop and maintain common practices and workflows in collaboration with these teams. With the mining industry’s focus on digital transformation and electrification, Your technical background will enable you to understand emerging technologies and interpret global regulations, thereby supporting our future technology development. Together with teams functional safety and product liability experts, you will provide support and advice to internal stakeholders globally on product liability and safety issues.

About your key responsibilities

  • Ensure effective information sharing and collaboration between product divisions safety teams.

  • Offer advisory services in product safety and liability related questions.

  • Plan and coordinate product safety trainings across the business area.

  • Own and maintain common processes, tools and procedures in the field of product safety.

  • Support innovation and development of new safety concepts and technologies.

  • Coordinate participation into global safety regulation and standards development and represent Sandvik in working groups when needed.

  • Manage access to global safety standards and regulations across SMR and SRP.

  • Follow global industry trends, safety standardization, and regulation development.

About your skills and qualifications

We are looking for Master or Bachelor of Science or Engineering in the field of safety engineering, automation, or similar. The ideal candidate understands machinery, electrification, automation technologies or solutions and processes for industrial control systems. Working knowledge of machinery and safety related regulations and standards is necessary to be successful in this position. Understanding on functional safety, certification and compliance related activities is a benefit. You work smoothly in an international business environment with strong networking, influencing and communication skills in English.
