Mechatronic Senior Technician

Install, repair, inspect and commission products and equipment of different kind at customer site or own premises. Report and document results after above actions. Responsible for plan, conduct and maintain tools and equipment for service work. Support the customer’s product/equipment/processes by suggesting possible improvements. Provide basic technical support to the sales team. Ability to produce positive results in sales-client interventions.

JOB PURPOSE

Carry out maintaining, repairing, and inspecting activities, using diverse tools and techniques, with limited supervision.

Workshop or customer site based, working under guidance of more senior service technicians.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

-Maintenance and Repair Support

-Repair and replaces parts, following instructions and technical equipment manuals.

-Interpret basic mechanical designs and maintenance manuals, assembling and dismantling to make necessary alignments and adjustments.

-Perform maintenance tasks independently and verify task results and tracks operating equipment to detect possible problems.

-Report and document executed work according to relevant procedures and work instructions.

-Basic customer communication – can explain basic operating procedures and refer to responsible/relevant person.

-Give feedback to line manager/team leader with regards to equipment maintenance and service challenges.

-Limited guidance to level 1/trainees.

-Ensure that all work procedures (utilizing the tools provided), are carried out according to safety standards.

-Prepare and execute all activities in line with SHEQ rules, regulations, procedures, instructions, guidelines, and promote awareness, including addressing anomalies to others.

-Technology and automation:

Maintenance & Repair:

-Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical components of machines and equipment.

-Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical circuits, control systems, and mechanical issues.

Installation & Testing:

-Set up equipment connectivity to customer network.

-Commission and set up onboard automation.

-Install and commission mechatronic systems and components in alignment with operational guidelines.

-Test systems to verify performance, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Troubleshooting:

-Troubleshoot basic offboard automation and provide technical feedback to automation specialists.

-Identify faults using diagnostic tools, schematics, and equipment manuals.

-Resolve issues efficiently to minimize downtime.

Documentation:

-Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.

-Provide technical reports and updates to the supervisor.

Safety Compliance:

-Adhere to workplace safety regulations and standards in mining.

-Ensure all tools and equipment are used safely and are properly maintained.

Customer Support (if applicable):

-Assist customers with technical advice and troubleshooting for installed equipment.

Planning and Reporting

Report and document executed work according to relevant procedures and work instructions.

Customer Value Add

Basic customer communication – can explain basic operating procedures and refer to responsible/relevant person.

COLLABORATION WITH PARTS & SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT DIVISIONS

Network with peers and next-level technicians and attend relevant training.

Give feedback to line manager/team leader with regards to equipment maintenance and service challenges.

SUPERVISION/ACT AS A COACH

Limited guidance to level 1/trainees.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Ensure that all work procedures (using the tools provided), are carried out according to safety standards.

Prepare and execute all activities in line with SHEQ rules, regulations, procedures, instructions, guidelines, and promote awareness, including highlighting anything out of the ordinary to others.
