Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is a business area of the Sandvik Group and a leading supplier of equipment and tools, services, support and technical solutions for the mining industry and specialist sectors such as quarrying, tunneling, demolition, dimensional stone, recycling and the civil engineering industry. SMR’s offering covers drilling, mechanical cutting, loading and hauling, crushing and screening, demolition and recycling, and various solutions to increase automation.
The role
Operations Excellence Specialist will be responsible for system & processes development and continuous operational efficiency improvements for the mining site to meet the site’s short and long term goals for increased service levels & performance sustainability, effective utilization of resources, elimination of manhour & parts wastages. and Increase equipment reliability.
Areas of responsibility
- Complies with SMR safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.
- Ensures team reports are working in a safe manner and following Company Policies and Guidelines
- Responsible for Driving service operational excellence
- Manage Operational Excellence programs and efforts at the site for short and long term goals achievement assuring culture and systems development in support of continuous improvement in cost and quality performance
- Time motion study of manpower optimization, implementation of study outcome
- Time motion study of PM activities, implementation of study outcome
- Drive & Implementation of Asset Optimization
- Identify gaps in resource planning and timely escalation to operation team for implementation
- Study of miss blast, recommendation to minimize.
- Study of L&H cycle, recommendation to minimize
Your profile
You will have a Bachelors degree/Diploma in Engineering and 5-8 years experience in Maintenance Management of Heavy Earthmoving Machineries.
Other requirements:
- Solid Experience in maintenance Management
- Familiar with commercial knowhow of contract
- Proven record of Process improvement and cost savings success
- Solid understanding of Engineering, Project Management, Lean Principles, Six Sigma, Financial acumen.
- Ability to manage cross functionally with direct and indirect influence
- Ability to Coach and facilitate individually and at the large scale level
- Advanced skills in statistical software packages
- OpEx/Lean Six Sigma/PMI certifications is a definite plus.
