FINANCE & COMPLIANCE MANAGER
Sandvik Mining and Construction DRC is a Sales Unit based in Lubumbashi, within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, a Business Area that is a leading supplier of equipment and tools, service and support for the mining industry. We also provide solutions and knowledge in a wide range of applications such as rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunneling and quarrying.

Your mission
Key performance areas & responsibilities:
COMPLIANCE
Supports the rapid growth of the DRC territory and implements standard Sandvik systems or projects where necessary to ensure the entity is fully compliant with Sandvik reporting requirements.
Chairs the Risk Committee for the DRC territory. Whilst guiding management, consolidates the agreed solutions, actions, implements, drives and ensures these are in compliance with Sandvik policies, guidelines and procedures.
Advises management on financial matters and the impact of laws and regulations on the organisation.
Provides expertise in technical IFRS related transactions, ensuring that transactions have been recorded and accounted for in accordance with regulatory and financial reporting standards.
Develops and manages Transfer Pricing Policy that follows Group and DRC legislation.
Ensures compliance with governance requirements by guiding the Board of Directors, championing entity risk management, producing board packs and ensuring the conduct of Board meetings in accordance with the Sandvik Way and Governance policies.
Ensures successful implementation of internal controls, regular testing and monitoring to enhance the effectiveness of controls as per group policy and guidelines.
Ensures all tax returns, declarations, and other required reports are submitted accurately and on time in accordance with local legislation.
Selects and manages relationships with consultants and advisors to ensure satisfactory standards of service
You provide guidance and direction for the Finance Team ………….
FINANCIAL & OPERATIONAL
Leads the finance department, ensuring that internal reporting, external reporting, and internal and external audits are conducted in a timely manner.
Manages finance processes development, analysis and implementation to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in business performance.
Drives the forecasting, business planning and follow-up process for the entity to improve forecasting accuracy.
Reviews and analyses operating results in relation to cost, budgets and agreed KPIs.
Analyses customer profitability, review of pricing and performance to ensure all contracts are profitable.
Ensures an accurate and timely level of performance and communication to the Sandvik Group’s corporate governance level requirements.
Coordinates the entity’s cash flow requirements with the territory Finance Manager, ensuring efficient and effective net working capital management.
Manages the finance department’s overall performance, setting KPIs including development and implementation.
Manages the relationships with external agents such as banks, tax and government treasury, labour department and unions, external auditors, etc.
BUSINESS GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
Supports management in business activities and decisions on financial issues – business cases, projects, investments and disinvestments.
Supports management in Customer activities such as monthly meetings and performance evaluation reports, monthly presentations, proposals, negotiations and contracts.
Constructs business cases (performs profitability analysis) before any new contracts/contract amendments are entered into, thereby ensuring appropriate business opportunities are targeted and pursued, and limiting the risk to Sandvik of marginal/unprofitable business/business impact analysis.
Reviews business activities to detect potential problems, anomalies, errors, performs checks with realism, identifies and evaluates threats and opportunities.
Provides management with financial advice, support and ad hoc reports as requested
Acts as chief financial advisor for territory sales contracts in cooperation with Sandvik's commercial and legal departments.

ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH AND SAFETY COMPLIANCE
Ensures that Sandvik Health, Safety & Environment Policies, Systems and Programs are understood and communicated to all direct reports. Familiarising with and complying with proper health and safety practices and visibly and personally participating in safety activities to show the importance.
Ensures compliance with Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions EHS policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.
Identifies and reports on safety management compliance, threats and opportunities.
HUMAN RESOURCES, LABOUR LAW COMPLIANCE
Ensures that Sandvik Human Resource Policies, Systems and Programs are understood and communicated to all direct reports.
Familiarises management with compliance to and adherence to labour practices according to the labour law code 015-2002.
Ensures compliance with Sandvik HR policies and applicable government, industry regulations or requirements.
Establishes and implements the Sandvik DRC code of conduct for employees, implements necessary legal compliance with these laws and applies them to serve both the employees and the employer, monitoring and measuring standards to optimise efficiencies.
Identifies and reports on labour law compliance, threats and opportunities.
IT AND SYSTEMS COMPLIANCE
Ensures that Sandvik IT Policies and Systems are understood, communicated to and complied with by all users in the DRC Territory.
Identifies and reports on IT management compliance, threats and opportunities.
Your profile
You have a high level of leadership skills, and you are a self-driven and motivated individual with a high level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity. You should be able to manage and keep track of:
a demanding group of government authorities and
be able to adapt to a rapidly changing compliance landscape and
with a demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving within time constraints.
In addition, the following will be a pre-requisite:
A bachelor’s degree in financial management/financial accounting
Professional qualification such as CA/CPA & CIMA
+ 4 years post qualification experience in the mining industry with exposure to strategic planning, compliance roles and demonstrated experience in setting up internal control policies and procedures.
Previous experience in providing financial and commercial advice to a senior management team.
Previous experience and knowledge of the Sandvik Systems, Policies and Way of Working
Advanced Computer literacy
Fluency in English
