Job profile
In this position, you support new and existing applications in the field of digitalization, automation, and mine electrification technologies. You’re a direct report to the Global Trans4mine Manager for direction, however, you’re guided by sales area teams. This is a support role and has a close interaction with all of Sandvik's equipment divisions and sales areas.
Your responsibilities include:
Supporting and collaborating with the Trans4mine team with knowledge and insights from customer sites and assisting with best practices, sustainable safety, cost, and productivity benefits.
Understanding customer requirements and needs – conducting readiness studies and reviews.
Providing value quantification and trade-off studies.
Operating mine planning and design software to work with customer’s mine plans.
Providing fleet size calculations, supporting sites in fleet selection, as well as supporting sales areas with tenders and Framework Agreements.
The location for this position is flexible within Canada, ideally close to one of our mining hubs and we offer you a hybrid working model. Travel up to 30% of working time is a natural part of your job.
About you
To succeed in this role, we believe you’re driven and have a passion for working with customers. You have experience from working in a similar position, as well as a holistic knowledge and experience of underground mining applications. With good interpersonal skills and a clear communicative way of working, you set the foundation for good collaborations with people in a global environment in a matrix organization across cultures. You work well both alone and in a team environment. As we’re a global organization, proficiency in both written and verbal English is required.
Required qualifications:
University degree in Mining Engineering or Mine Planning/Industrial Engineering.
Competence in mine planning software – preferably Deswik.
Working knowledge of simulation software packages, preferably MineGame, Simo, or Arena.
Excellent computer skills with data analysis capability.
Project management skills.
