Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions (SMR) is a leading supplier of equipment and tools, services and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries. To our Rock Tools division and to our Production Technology department at Patancheru plant (Hyderabad), we are now looking for a Production Manager for TH product line to join us

Yours scope:

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee the manufacturing of our Top Hammer production line. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of Top Hammer drilling tools, Lean Manufacturing principles, ISO standards, and EHS practices.

To be more specific, your main responsibilities in handling this position are:

  • Ensure compliance with environment, health and safety standards in the process and equipment's
  • Implement and maintain best practices for safety and regulatory compliance. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate Sandvik leadership model and adhere to Sandvik Core Values in day-to-day activities.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to ensure timely delivery of top hammer products.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of quality throughout the production process.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of materials, equipment, and personnel.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs, utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Ensure production processes adhere to relevant ISO standards, including ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental management.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with union representatives to address workforce concerns and ensure smooth operations.
  • Motivate, support, and provide guidance to production staff.
  • Communicate regularly with upper management regarding production status, issues, and improvements.
  • Ensure constructive cross functional collaboration to deliver the organizational objectives.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, ensure best practices.
  • Drive D&I initiatives and people development.

Your profile:

Our candidate should have hands-on experience as a Production Manager or a similar role with at least a minimum of 20 years’ relevant experience from a manufacturing engineering organization.

A graduate engineering degree in mechanical or production engineering is required. You have previously worked with strong EHS cultured organizations, and you understand the importance of a diverse workforce and collaborative settings.

Other required competencies that we find necessary are:

  • Strong knowledge of top hammer drilling tools and their applications.
  • In-depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Awareness and understanding of ISO standards and their application in manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of EHS practices and regulations.
  • Experience in interacting with union representatives.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Fluency in English, Hindi and Telugu is a requirement for the role.
  • Leading a team to drive the results with a collaborative style
