CNC Mill & Lathe Operator
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Mill & Lathe Operator with at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a precision machining environment. This role involves setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC milling machines and lathes to produce high-quality parts with tight tolerances. The ideal candidate is proficient in blueprint reading, has a solid understanding of G-code and M-code, and is comfortable making adjustments to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC milling machines and lathes according to blueprints, CAD models, and production specifications.
Perform tool changes, offsets, and basic programming edits to optimize production runs.
Monitor and adjust machine parameters to maintain precision and minimize waste.
Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings to ensure compliance with part specifications.
Conduct in-process and final quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.
Diagnose and troubleshoot machine issues, working with maintenance or engineering teams as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation while following all safety protocols and best practices.
Document production processes, maintain accurate records, and report any discrepancies.
Qualifications & Skills:
3-5+ years of experience operating and setting up CNC milling machines (horizontal milling machines is a preferred but not required). and CNC lathes.
Strong understanding of machining principles, feeds, speeds, and tooling selection for different materials.
Experience with G-code, M-code, and manual programming edits is highly preferred.
Familiarity with CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar) is a plus.
Ability to troubleshoot machining issues, make offset adjustments, and optimize production.
Proficiency with measuring tools and inspection techniques to ensure part accuracy.
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and blueprint reading.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-precision manufacturing environment.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in CNC machining is preferred.
