Sandvik Coromant is looking for an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist

Location: Mebane, NC

We are looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist to join our team!

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures company compliance with all state, federal, and local laws and regulations and monitors changes that would impact risk, safety and environmental compliance
Coordinates risk, safety, and environmental programs and ensures legal compliance
Maintains local Business Continuity Plan for compliance to achieve company goals
Monitors and ensures effectiveness of the site safety program and its procedures. Identifies and analyzes opportunities for improvements and supports implementation of changes
Reviews all changes in the local environment and evaluates impact on risk, safety, and environmental aspects
Issues and maintains related documentation in the Document Control System
Drives Green Factory and other sustainability projects and assures alignment with risk, safety, sustainability and digitalization targets.
Collects and maintains data for EHS reporting to local and global management
Provide risk, safety, and environmental training, as required
Directs and conducts routine and special risk, safety, and environmental audits, reviews, and assessments
Performs additional duties, as required

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards and regulations as well as federal, state and local environmental regulations
Proficient problem-solving skills with focus on synergy and adopting best practices
Proficient in Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel and Power point

EXPERIENCE

2 – 5 years responsibilities within risk, safety or sustainability
3 – 5 years manufacturing experience, preferred
Prior experience with Metasys Building Management Systems or other integrated systems is considered a plus

EDUCATION

Academic background in Environmental Science or Industrial Engineering with specialization in Environmental, Health and Safety, preferred

LICENCES & CERTIFICATES

The ideal candidate will possess Hazwoper 40 certification and OSHA 10/30 certification

OTHER INFORMATION

Must be authorized to work in the United States
Global travel may be required
