Fall Student - Quality Management System Development

Location: Lively, Ontario

Currently, we have an opening for a Fall Student for Quality Management System Development. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the development of procedures for our Quality Management System (QMS) as per ISO 9001 standard.

Please note that student positions are offered on a full time or part time contract basis for a maximum of 90 days.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Assisting in Procedure Development: Actively participate in the creation and refinement of procedures for the Quality Management System (QMS). Your role will involve collaborating with team members, gathering relevant information, and documenting processes accurately.

  • SharePoint Implementation: Your tasks may include organizing content, setting up document libraries, and ensuring proper version control.

  • Reviewing Existing Processes: Part of your responsibility will be to review existing processes and identify areas for improvement. This could involve analyzing feedback, conducting audits, or assessing the effectiveness of current procedures. Your insights will contribute to enhancing the overall QMS.

  • Collaborating with Stakeholders: Interact with various stakeholders, including quality managers, process owners, and employees. Engaging in discussions, seeking feedback, and addressing any concerns will be essential to successful procedure development.

  • Document Control and Maintenance: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation is critical for ISO compliance. Assist in managing document control processes, ensuring that the right versions are accessible to the relevant personnel. This includes handling revisions, approvals, and archiving.

  • Training and Awareness: As part of the QMS team, you’ll contribute to training sessions and awareness campaigns. This involves educating employees about QMS procedures, their importance, and how to follow them. Clear communication and training materials will be essential.

  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Actively participate in identifying opportunities for enhancement. Whether it’s streamlining processes, reducing waste, or enhancing efficiency, your fresh perspective will be valuable.

What you will bring along

  • Interest or experience in Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001 standard would be an asset. Working towards completion of post-secondary education, preferably in Engineering.

  • Teamwork and communication skills. Curiosity and Proactive Approach: Ask questions, seek clarification, and explore beyond the surface. Curiosity drives continuous improvement. If you encounter something unfamiliar, be proactive in seeking answers.

  • Computer skills and experience with Microsoft software and Office suite, especially SharePoint.

  • Analytical Thinking: As you review existing processes, consider their effectiveness and identify areas for enhancement. Analytical skills will help you assess whether procedures align with ISO requirements and suggest improvements.

  • Curiosity and Proactive Approach: Ask questions, seek clarification, and explore beyond the surface. Curiosity drives continuous improvement. If you encounter something unfamiliar, be proactive in seeking answers.

  • Attention to Detail: Quality management involves precision. You’ll be responsible for documenting procedures accurately, ensuring consistency, and maintaining version control. Paying attention to details is essential to avoid errors.
