Technical Sales Representative

Location: Brisbane (QLD), Somerset (TAS) or Sydney (NSW)

About the Role: We are seeking a results-driven Technical Sales Representative to join our dynamic team, reporting to the Account Manager. The role will primarily focus on driving technical sales and providing exceptional service to customers in the Metal sector across the East Region. This is an exciting opportunity for a sales focused professional with a strong technical background in underground mining to contribute to the growth and success of the business.

The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing broad and customer-specific sales and technical plans to maintain servicing, increase sales, revenue, and the profile of our business in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Performance: Achieve and exceed sales targets for allocated accounts, driving market share growth and establishing a strong presence in the region.

  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, identifying opportunities for business development and ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Consultative Sales: Assess customer needs and improve tailored solutions that align with their business objectives, positioning our products as the preferred choice.

  • Sales Cycle Management: Resource the initial sales and servicing plan for new and existing clientele within profiled East region.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activities and industry trends, taking proactive steps to address market shifts and capitalize on new opportunities.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team to share leads, identify new business opportunities, and close sales effectively

  • Product Awareness: Ensure customers underground QAQC requirements are being upheld, ensure customers are fully informed about Sandvik Ground Supports full range of products and services, fostering opportunities for cross-selling and upselling.

  • Feedback and Reporting: Provide feedback to the Account Manager and Sales Manager on pricing, and customer demand fluctuations.

About You: To be successful in this role, you will possess the following essential attributes:

Essential:

  • Demonstrate experience and knowledge in underground mining applications, industrial products, or Technical Sales / Service roles previously (5+ years)

  • Strong ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts to a diverse customer base.

  • Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and driving measurable business growth.

  • Expertise in developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a focus on results and sales performance.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).

  • Current Drivers License and ability to maintain mine medical clearances and inductions.

Desirable:

  • Understandable knowledge of ground support and applications within the mining sector.

  • Relevant underground mining experience or exposure to similar related industrial environments, or

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related technical field.

  • Sales training or certifications (eg, consultative selling, remote B2B sales) would be advantageous.
