We are now seeking for an accomplished Senior GTS Specialist with a deep functional and technical understanding of SAP GTS and SAP S/4HANA. In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of Sandvik’s Machining Solutions global trade compliance system. You will collaborate across IT, trade compliance, logistics, and supply chain functions to deliver seamless integrations, optimal system performance and support regulatory compliance, and drive automation initiatives. This is an opportunity to contribute to mission-critical systems while ensuring global operations align with evolving business goals and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

System Optimization & Maintenance:

  • Design, configure, and enhance SAP GTS functionalities in areas such as Customs Management, Compliance Management, Trade Preference, and support future functionalities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and implement solutions that align with business goals.
  • Manage SAP GTS master data, including tariff codes, duty rates, and regulatory updates.
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize the SAP GTS system for consistent and efficient operations.
  • Ensure timely upgrades, patches, and compliance with IT security standards.
  • Configure and maintain list types.
  • Manage interactions with customs interfaces like DMS 4.0/4.1 for Dutch Customs, ensuring accuracy in declarations and reports.

Integration & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Manage system integrations with SAP S/4HANA, troubleshoot interface and connectivity issues, and oversee upgrades, patches, and performance tuning.
  • Support seamless integrations between SAP GTS, SAP S/4HANA, and third-party systems like Seeburger.
  • Work closely with PI/CPI integration teams, manage XML parsing, and ensure accurate IDoc setup and transmission to external systems.
  • Collaborate with the SAP S/4HANA team to address cross-functional processes in areas such as SD, MM, FI and WM.

Continuous improvement:

  • Partner with IT, Logistics, and Trade Compliance teams across Sandvik to identify automation opportunities and enhance process efficiency and accuracy.
  • Play a key role in further SAP GTS implementation projects to more business units.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to adapt the SAP GTS landscape to changing business and regulatory requirements.

Training, Support & Documentation:

  • Provide comprehensive training to users on SAP GTS functionalities, best practices, and new developments.
  • Maintain and improve technical documentation, operational guidelines, and functional workflows.
  • Manage ticketing systems, resolve high-priority issues, and ensure user satisfaction.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven track record in SAP GTS implementation, configuration, and support.
  • Expertise in core SAP GTS functionalities such as Customs Management, Compliance Management (SPL and embargo), Trade Preference as well as License Management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SAP S/4HANA modules, including integration points with SD and MM, WM (incl. external WM) and FI. TM is a plus.
  • Experience with ECC to S/4HANA migration.
  • Strong expertise in managing master data and external datasets from sources like Descartes and Dow Jones.
  • Skilled in middleware solutions like Seeburger for data exchange and XML/IDoc configurations.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex functional requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Proficiency with change management tools like SAP Solution Manager (e.g. CHARM, Solution Manager).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English with strong communication skills.

Your profile

  • Advanced experience with middleware (CPI/PI) and SAP-specific tools for seamless integration.
  • Familiarity with SAP TM functionalities and it’s integration with SAP GTS.
  • Strong understanding of SAP S/4 landscape.
  • Good understanding of global trade regulations, customs protocols, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with advanced reporting and analytics tools within the SAP ecosystem.
  • Proficiency in automation technologies, including Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
  • Experience using Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies (e.g. automation tools, SAP BTP, etc.).
  • Hands-on knowledge of SAP ABAP is considered a plus.
