Christophe Sut, President Sandvik Manufacturing Solutions
Christophe Sut is heading up a part of Sandvik that is expected to grow substantially in coming years. In 2021, the business area segment has increased its size four times with acquisitions related to CAM software and industrial metrology. His responsibility also includes the additive manufacturing business.
Christophe Sut is French-born with 20 years’ experience from international business. He came to Sandvik in 2021 with the ambition to evolve the overall business with the integration of digitalization and the introduction of new technologies.
“We should not undermine the rest of the Sandvik business. I think it’s the combination of the two that will make the future of Sandvik, how we capitalize of the knowhow of the traditional business and link it with these new legs we are bringing into Sandvik,” Sut says and describes it as adding a digital layer.
The manufacturing industry is always in search for improved productivity and more efficiency.
“Digital tools can help customers improve their productivity. If you go into many factories, there is still a lot of paper work and data that is not exchanging in a seamless way, so there is a lot of double manipulation and slowdown of processes. We look into how we can close the loop between the different steps in the manufacturing process to improve efficiency.”
