Sandvik announces changes in Group Human Resources
After more than eight years as Executive Vice President and Head of Human Resources for Sandvik Group, Johan Kerstell has decided to leave his position to pursue new career opportunities. Johan will remain in his role as long as necessary until a successor is in place, ensuring a proper handover and a smooth transition of all his activities and HR-related strategic initiatives.
“It's been a fantastic journey for me to lead the people and culture agenda for Sandvik and I am very proud of everything we've built along these years with our HR colleagues around the world; however, now it is time for me to take my next steps. I am looking forward to exploring new challenges, whether inside or outside Sandvik", he says.
Johan joined Sandvik 20 years ago and has led various HR organizations and transformational initiatives. The process to find a successor will now be initiated.
“I fully respect Johan's decision and will support his next steps. I also appreciate his flexibility in ensuring a smooth leadership transition. He has been highly appreciated colleague along these years and I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours", says Stefan Widing, President and CEO of Sandvik.
