Sandvik receives major mining orders from Chile and Kazakhstan
Sandvik's Mining and Construction business are has received several major orders for advanced equipment to underground mines in Chile and Kazakhstan for mining of copper.
The order value amounts to a total of about SEK 150 M.
The orders from Chile involves Tamrock drilling rigs and Toro loaders to the companies Codelco and Cemento Melon, with delivery in autumn 2001.
The order from Kazakhstan is for Tamrock drilling rigs to the Kazahmys Corporation. The order also includes spare parts and service as well as on-site training and customer support in the mines. Delivery is scheduled for the period September 2001 to March 2002.

Service is becoming increasingly more important and during the summer Sandvik acquired Bafco, a leading service company in Chile," says Anders Ilstam, President of Sandvik Mining and Construction.
