We are looking for a meticulous & proactive Trade Compliance and Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse Specialist for our newly established heavy machinery assembly factory in Seremban - Sendayan Techvalley for the underground load & haul equipment.

The Load & Haul Division, the home of Sandvik loaders and trucks for underground mining business. Here we are safer, stronger, and smarter, as we like to say it. We have been the market leader by accelerating diesel and battery-electric equipment development, with sharpened priorities. We work in close co-operation with the sales areas within the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions Business Area, to provide the best possible service to our customers. Load & Haul home base is located in Turku, Finland. Additionally, we have operations in Camarillo, USA and Changzhou, China as well in Seremban, Malaysia.

Do we share the same goals?

In this position you are primarily responsible to manage, observe, grow the licensing and compliance tasks / process, technicality, actions related to logistics, trading, warehousing, inventory, quality, and production at Seremban factory besides developing good business relations for Government Agency & internal Sandvik stakeholders.

  • Familiar with Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) compliances (Section 65/65A of The Malaysian Customs Act 1967), monthly and annual reporting.
  • Responsible & remain knowledgeable of Trade Law & Regulation that are country / region specific.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures available in the Trade Compliance Policy are introduced, implemented and adhered to at Seremban factory.
  • Develop and implement training program for trade compliance and LMW practice.
  • Responsible to monitor and maintain trade & LMW related product master data, ie; customs tariffs, certificates of origin, ECCN, government agency certificates, etc.
  • Evaluate potential issues or violation investigations and support trade compliance related matters to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify & support improvements in LMW processes, import/export procedures to increase efficiency, minimize costs, and improve overall organization performance.
  • Collaborate broader supply chain & operations team to streamline workflows.
  • Correct Customs declaration forms used for rejects or returns and vice-versa.
  • Familiar with LMW scrap processes & Customs Clearance K8 & K9
  • Focal point & integrated document center for import/export, trade, duties & tax.
  • Continuously monitor & stay abreast on the latest developments & requirements set by authorities – MIDA, Customs, IRB, etc.
  • Be professional Trade Compliance & LMW trainer to internal stakeholders.
  • Adhere to quality requirement and safety guidelines.
  • Proactively, seeking business optimization and cost savings or new capability and developing data-driven business cases to support new initiatives
  • Staying current on industry and market trends and best practices
  • Taking EHS and Quality requirements into account at work
  • Ensure Sandvik Way of Working procedures are in place and always adhered to
  • Participate in implementation and understand SAP module S/4 Hana, ARIBA system
  • Battery technology background considered an advantage

Your background and what we find important

This role would be ideal for someone looking to further develop & stay motivated for new challenges to enhance expertise in the trade, licensing, compliance area. As a person you have excellent communication and customer relationship skills, strategic, resourceful and deliver as required, fluent English speaking with a minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy machineries assembly / manufacturing environment or equivalent, familiar with LMW setup, familiar with SAP S/4 Hana & Ariba system utilization related to procurement function, expert of regional supply base, expert in dealing with local regulators (Customs, SIRIM, MITI, MIDA, IRB) etc. Integrated and enhanced knowledge of Trade Compliance including US, EU, APAC trades. Suitable degree or any education certificate from technical & vocational institutions.
