Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment, tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry. The product offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.
JOB PURPOSE
• Responsible for important customer assignments to perform systematic fault finding and providing prompt, correct and safe solutions.
• Work closely with customer, using a specialist understanding of customer needs to act as a trusted advisor and determine the appropriate solution.
• Reporting the important product cases into the EQ Division systems.
Occupational Health & Safety
Product Support Advisor will ensure he complies with:
- Assistance in the development of maintenance Safe Work procedures;
- Site specific EH&S policies and procedures and where required be involved in site EH&S meetings
Maintenance Execution
Product Support Advisor shall:
- Inspect equipment as per Customer inspection schedule;
- Provide on-the-job coaching and mentoring of Customers maintenance personnel to enhance product knowledge and specialist skills;
- Assist with equipment services and major component replacement;
- Perform fault finding of technical issues;
- Participate in pre and post shutdown meetings with the workgroup;
- Provide advice on commissioning of new and/or superseded components.
Product Support Advisor shall assist the Customer's staff with Sandvik departments to:
- Develop materials requirements for scoped work;
- Source parts for emergency repairs;
- Liaise with Customer Planning staff in the coordination of maintenance activities;
- assist with Sandvik Warranty process.
Coordination & Support
Product Support Advisor to assist Customers Continuous Improvement teams via:
- Identity improvement opportunities;
- Participation root cause failure analysis;
- Communication with National Product Support Team & Sandvik remote maintenance teams.
Product Support Advisor will provide assistance to Customers Planning and Maintenance departments enabling:
- Increased availability, reliability;
- Identification of continuous improvement opportunities;
- Reduce cost.
Product Support Advisor as required, shall assist with identifying & coordinating further Sandvik personnel that may be required to achieve optimum service and availability.
