Operation Field Specialist

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a global leading supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries. Application areas include rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunneling, quarrying and breaking and demolition.

Job Summary

Sandvik is seeking applications from motivated individuals for Operation Field Specialist based in Poboya Site, Palu Sulawesi (Contract Based).

The Operation Field Specialist is required to perform all necessary activities that are associated with the effective and profitable servicing of a Sandvik Rock Tools Field Support, including compliance with all relevant operating procedures and policies, work scopes and contract documents.

These services include:

  • Product Performance Review.

  • Internal Stock quality control.

  • Product refurbishment & modification.

  • Product support, testing and monitoring.

Main Responsibilities

  • Be part of Account team and customer interactions.

  • Assess technical issues with all Sandvik products.

  • Travel to customer sites.

  • Conducting product trials and testing onsite as required to further expand the business value.

  • Analyse the condition and/or failures and discuss with the customers supervisor / operators.

  • Complete analysis of failed product and report any abnormalities to the Sales Manager and/or Tools Sales & Service Representative.

  • Stock Quality Control which includes perform periodic stock count and reconciliation of all Rock Tools, regular quality check for product on stock, and coordinate and do maintenance activities.

Safety & Environment

  • Ensure all activities are being carried out in accordance with company values and current company policies and procedures and ensure that all work procedures (utilizing the tools provided), are carried out according to safety standards.

  • Ensure adherence to mines regulations for all works performed by Sandvik at the Project Site. Report unsafe facilities and practices to the Contracts Supervisor. Ensure that the Customer’s statutory obligations at the Project Site are met on consumables and workshop facilities.

  • Demonstrate and maintain a high standard of housekeeping so as to optimize a safe and productive working environment with a quality outcome.

  • Prepare and execute all activities in line with EHSQ rules, regulations, procedures, instructions, guidelines, and promote awareness, including addressing anomalies to others.

Customer Value Add

  • Maintain current customer base and services with good communication and able to explain basic operating procedures.

  • Basic customer communication – can explain basic operating procedures and refer to responsible/relevant person.

  • Develop opportunity for growth in the Rock Tools business.

Planning and Reporting

  • Report and document executed work according to relevant procedures and work instructions including develop site visit report and product monitoring report.

  • House Keeping for Tools & Support equipment.

RELATIONSHIPS AND AUTHORITY

  • Supported directly by the Tools Sales & Services Representative

  • Supported indirectly by the Sales Manager Rock Tools.

  • Give feedback to line manager/team leader with regards to service challenges.

  • Liaises with relevant Sandvik CSC Supervisor, relevant Sandvik Warehouse Supervisor & Team, Product Line Application & Engineers.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Strong customer service focus.

  • Strong safety focus.

  • An ability and preparedness to work in an underground & Surface mine environment.

  • High energy and enthusiasm, and importantly the ability to work unsupervised.

  • Strong understanding of the mining industry and issues that affect operational success.

  • Solutions focus.

  • Provide basic technical support to the sales team.

  • Ability to produce positive results in sales-client interventions.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • University Degree or Technical college or equivalent experience that could replace a portion of the educational requirement.

  • Preferred more than 3 years experiences in Mining Production & Drill & Blast / Earth Moving Equipment / Blast Hole Drillings Rig.

  • Understanding of the Indonesia mining industries will be advantage.

  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with drilling consumable products (Top Hammer, Down the Hole, Rotary).

  • Basic English proficiency.

  • Computer literacy, possess a valid Car Driving Licence.

  • Additionally, familiarity with Sandvik information systems and methodologies would be desirable.
