Senior Service Technician

Job Summary

Sandvik is seeking applications from motivated individuals for Senior Service Technician (Contract based) stationed in Batu Hijau.

The role is Carry out maintaining, repairing and inspecting activities, using diverse tools and techniques with limited supervision. Workshop or customer site based, working under guidance of more senior service technicians.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR BASIC SUPPORT

  • Maintenance and repair support.
  • Repair and replace parts, following instructions and technical equipment manuals.
  • Identify basic structure of the equipment, locate the main components and explain its basic functionality to colleagues.
  • Interpret basic mechanical designs and maintenance manuals, assembling and dismantling to make necessary alignments and adjustments.
  • Perform maintenance tasks independently and verify task results to detect possible problems.
  • Ensure work area is kept clean and tidy, and that tools and equipment are stored appropriately.

PLANNING AND REPORTING

  • Report and document executed work according to relevant procedures and work instructions.

CUSTOMER VALUE ADD

  • Basic customer communication – can explain basic operating procedures and refer to responsible/relevant person.

COLLABORATION WITH PARTS & SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT DIVISIONS

  • Network with peers and next-level technicians and attend relevant training.
  • Give feedback to line manager/team leader with regards to equipment maintenance and service challenges.

SUPERVISION / ACT AS A COACH

  • Limited guidance to level 1/trainees

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Ensure that all work procedures (using the tools provided), are carried out according to safety standards.
  • Prepare and execute all activities in line with SHEQ rules, regulations, procedures, instructions, guidelines, and promote awareness, including highlighting anything out of the ordinary to others.

EXPERIENCE

  • 2-4 Years Sandvik Equipment Experience
    • Has basic experience and proven basic skills of Sandvik Equipment.
    • More than 2-year industry experience
    • Beginner/Limited Root Cause Analysis

EDUCATION, LICENCES & CERTIFICATES

  • High school diploma or technical training or technical college.
  • Apprenticeship or technician training completed (newly qualified)
  • SANDVIK Sales Area Level 1/2 Knowledge Assessments above 80%
  • May start to specialize in equipment family i.e. LOHO etc

Competencies:

Basic Equipment knowledge and skills in at least one equipment type (automation a pre-requisite) :

  • Load & Haul
  • Drilling and Rigging
  • Rock Drill Technologies
  • Automation and/or
  • Rock Drills

iSERIES – Basic knowledge and skills in the following: Decentralized Automation - Bus Technology; Control Systems; Mechanics; Hydraulics; Pneumatics; Electrics
