VP Product Development and Product Management, Rotary Drilling Division

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions has a unique opportunity for a Vice President of R&D and Product Management at the Rotary Drilling Division in Alachua, Florida (USA).

YOUR MISSION

In this role, you will shape the future of our product portfolio by defining market segments, developing offering strategies, and leading new product introductions. You will oversee R&D, product engineering, and order-based engineering, ensuring modular product architecture and alignment with industry trends like Automation, Electrification, and Digitalization. You will be responsible for product profitability, ensuring strategic alignment between our product roadmap and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the offering development process to drive innovation and market leadership.
  • Identify, develop, and evaluate new product opportunities and enhancements, translating ideas into marketable products.
  • Lead all phases of the product lifecycle, from concept to commercialization.
  • Develop and execute a product roadmap for the Rotary Drilling portfolio, aligning with business strategy.
  • Oversee new product development, engineering, and continuous process improvements to maximize quality and efficiency.
  • Integrate emerging technologies into our product offerings.
  • Ensure cross-functional collaboration with supply chain partners, engineering vendors, and division management.
  • Own product profitability, leading cost-reduction initiatives and portfolio rationalization.
  • Improve product quality, reducing issue resolution time to 30 days or less.
  • Build and retain a strong R&D and Product Management team, fostering innovation and engagement.

YOUR PROFILE

You are a proven leader with at least 10 years of management experience in product development and/or product line management. You have a track record of launching successful products, leading large product teams, and driving strategic growth.

Key Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering or a related field
  • A strong background in Automation, Electrification, and Digitalization is required.
  • Experience leading cross-functional, global teams in complex technical environments.
  • Expertise in Rotary Drilling applications and technologies preferred.
  • Ability to manage change initiatives and deliver projects on time and on quality.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English and willing to travel as needed.
