Systems Engineer

Business Unit Automation is the home of AutoMine® - the world leading solution for autonomous mining. We are a global organization and developing fully automated and robotic mining technologies for mobile machinery, including machine vision, machine learning and artificial intelligence with an aim to revolutionize the underground and surface mining industry.

We are now looking for experienced and motivated Systems Engineer for our team. This is a role reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager, as part of the team in the center of our R&D. The position is based in Tampere, Finland at our home office in Tulli Business Park located in the city center.

Your Mission

As member of the R&D Systems Engineering team you will work in close collaboration with our customers and product managers, to understand the end user need and challenges, to transform these into a system design for our products. You will have a role as a technical product owner in R&D where you will have the responsibility for specifying requirements, define the system architecture and lead technical engineering work. This will put your skills at good use and challenge you in developing as an engineer and leader.

The hands-on part of your work is to define and specify solutions where the key is the systems functionality in which SW has a key role, but where you understand and can work with the complete autonomous system, all from user interfaces to embedded system parts.

You will work closely with other technical specialists to transform the system design into products and ensuring they fulfill the set-out customer needs.

Your Profile

You have a relevant technical education (e.g., Master of Science), and strong experience working with the specified context. You solve complex problems through collaboration and like to combine theoretical and practical work. You have good experience on working with different cross functional engineering disciplines.

We value your experience of automation software and autonomous on- or off-highway mobile applications in an international business environment. We expect you to have the experience of systems engineering principles and having proactive, systematic, and structured way of working and professional approach to execute your work with tools like Sparx Enterprise Architect or similar where knowledge in MBSE and SysML is wanted.
