Engineering Manager, Hydraulics

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions’ Underground Drilling Division has end-to-end responsibility for product management, new product development (including engineering, manufacturing and supply chain), product marketing and technical sales support for Underground Drills in mining and tunneling.

Our Systems and Technologies Team is now looking for a Hydraulics Engineering Manager for a full-time, permanent position to be based in Tampere, Finland.

Your role

As a Hydraulics Engineering Manager you are responsible for leading a team of hydraulic experts. Team role covers designing oil hydraulics, water hydraulics, pneumatics and greasing systems for mobile underground drill carrier, boom and drilling controls. You also actively collaborate with other technology teams in underground drilling organization and outside of it. Your role covers both current product engineering and new product development. Additionally, you collaborate closely with our research organization.

Your profile

  • You have a suitable degree in hydraulics engineering

  • Working experience in hydraulic engineering is required

  • Experience in Automation and Electrification is beneficial

  • You may have worked with Schematic Tools (e.g. E3, Vertex) and Product Data Management -systems (e.g. TeamCenter)

  • You hold strong communication and collaboration skills that is essential in daily co-operation

  • You communicate fluently in English

  • You are ready to work occasionally in an underground mine environment

  • You are a team player, innovative and continuously drive for improvement with own example
