The Parts & Services Division in Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions has a unique opportunity for a Pricing and Commercial Insights Professional to join our Commercial Excellence team.

Within our Parts & Services Division, we are responsible for the worldwide parts and services activities in SMR, with sales around € 2 billion in the mining and construction industries. Our customer base ranges from large multinational mining companies, to mining contractors, but also to small and medium-sized enterprises, that all use our equipment.

Within the commercial excellence team, we are responsible for tracking our installed base of equipment, pricing of all parts, and commercial analytics and insights.


Your mission – To make material impact with pricing initiatives and drive change with commercial insights

Your main responsibility is to provide commercial analyses and insights, either to drive management decisions, or to follow them through, implement and drive change in and with our sales areas. The scope is wide, diverse and complex, but in a nutshell it ranges from driving pricing initiatives and change management, to addressing market intelligence questions and development of commercial insights for different stakeholders.

In this position, you report to the Sales Operational Excellence & Insights Manager within the Sales Support & Development team and you will be based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

On a daily basis you will:

  • Drive and project manage different pricing projects, all the way from data exploration and understanding, analysis, presentation, communication, piloting, implementation, measurement and follow-up, ultimately driving results
  • Work with different data sources and translate large amounts of data into (actionable) insights for stakeholders at different levels of the organization
  • Connect with key stakeholders across Division and sales areas, to understand data, develop a business understanding, validate outcomes, and come to clear conclusions and next actions
  • Support with project implementations, provide training, find creative solutions, and create engagement for changes
  • Project manage your project(s), manage different stakeholders, define deliverables and timing, and measure and report on
  • Prepare ad-hoc analyses for Parts and Services President and Management Team
  • Manage strategic projects within the Commercial Excellence team
  • Be a part of the commercial excellence team and collaborate on different use-cases that build on data related to fleet, commercial, or pricing

Your character – A commercial and analytical mindset that is passionate to find new commercial insights and likes to drive change, in order to make an impact

You have a Master degree in economics, business, or engineering field. You have several years work experience in a high-profile environment. You have excellent analytical skills and strong business acumen, and are a good conceptual thinker. You are advanced in Microsoft Excel to build models and connect different data sets. You have strong verbal, written and presentation skills and the ability to convey complex information to a broad audience.

You have a well-developed ability to collaborate across process areas with key business stakeholders (both in sales areas as well as in Division) to achieve key objectives. You have strong interpersonal & communication skills, with the ability to lead initiatives with cross-functional teams & stakeholders throughout the organization. You are comfortable working in a global setting and you are good in building effective relationships, with a highly developed multi-cultural understanding.

You are highly motivated, hands-on, enthusiastic, and have a passion for pricing. You embrace process enhancements, initiatives for change and innovations, and lead and implement projects/initiatives successfully throughout the organization with cross-functional teams. You have experience with project management. As we operate in an international setting, you need to be fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
