The role
We are seeking a motivated, reliable and customer focused individual for the role of Operations Field Support. The successful applicant will be trained in all aspects of the role, which involves the daily service as part of a team at a Sandvik Rock Tools Contract site.
The role is based at our underground client mine sites in Western Australia and will see you engaged in direct customer service and Rock Tools operational activities.
This position can be either FIFO or residential (Kalgoorlie). If FIFO; candidates must be based in Perth with reliable access to the Perth Domestic Airport
Areas of responsibility:
Managing drilling consumables inventories to drill sites
Undertaking daily deliveries and stock replenishment to sites (Underground and Surface)
Undertaking deliveries and stock replenishment to site surface lay down yards and underground
Analysing and reporting on drilling consumable performance, condition, and failures
Positively engaging with our client’s mining operators
Administration of Products Usage and Contract Requirements
EHS Requirements
Repairs and reconditioning of hammers
Timely data entry and record keeping
Essential requirements
Valid manual C Class Driver’s license
FIFO roster reliability (8 days on/6 days off – 12-hour days, day shift only)
Ability to pass a police clearance
High customer focus and positive service orientation and attitude
Able to perform independently and in teams
Adaptable and resilient
Strong English communication skills
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
Your profile
You will preferably have experience working underground around heavy equipment and hold current inductions. You must have a strong safety commitment as well as excellent customer service and communication skills. Knowledge of on-site service contracts, underground mining, and familiarity with Sandvik drilling products would also be favourable.
You will have aptitude for learning and the ability to engage in labour intensive work; you have receptiveness to training and guidance; safety behaviours; and effective communication and collaboration skills. These will be the foundation of your progression to the ROTO activities you will be required to perform.
This role will also require you to safely lift a minimum of 40kgs, so physical fitness is a must.
This role can suit either entry level candidates or those with experience in rock tools or underground mining.
