Exciter Service Technician - Cleveland, OH Area

Key performance areas
As the Service Technician, you will troubleshoot, report, and rebuild mechanical vibrating equipment drive units. The Service Technician is also responsible for testing and certification of refurbished equipment. This role will be at the Cleveland facility.
Additionally, the Service Technician will:
- Inspect drive units for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions.
- Adjust equipment and repair/replace defective parts components or systems according to scopes of work.
- Tests repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance.
- Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Stay current with the industry, customer, product developments and technical best practices Customer Service
- Ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Stay current and in compliance with all Sandvik, Customer, State, and Federal regulatory safety policies.
The Service Technician will spend their time working at the Cleveland facility, and traveling might be required when necessary, so candidates must be comfortable with these conditions.
This position is in Cleveland, OH area.
Your profile
You have a technical certification or diploma in a mechanical field with at least 3 years' industry-related experience. You are a collaborator with excellent communication and active listening skills and the ability to maintain strong relations. You are flexible and initiative-taking, with a drive to achieve customer satisfaction.
The Service Technician will also possess:
- A safety champion capable of working alone and stopping work, if required
- Excellent troubleshooting ability with strong diagnostic and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Possess strong people skills with a customer service-based personality.
- Ability to read drawings and interpret equipment schematics.
- Must conform to ISO Standards

Technical Expertise
- Provides technical information to the service network on proper operation, maintenance and troubleshooting practices.
- Provides technical support to sales and service personnel, in cases of complex technical issues.
- Provides relevant feedback to enable improvements to the equipment or its operation.
- Provides help compiling accurate data to process warranty claims and engineering improvements.
- Reviews spare parts recommendations and develops accuracy of rebuild procedures, time logs to improve customer service and product reliability.
- Investigates warranty claims proactively and reactively to enhance customer satisfaction and provide feedback to the personnel responsible.
- Assists site service technicians with field-testing and trials of new products and updated components to ensure proper and safe operation.

- Complies with SRP safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.
- Identifies and reports any unsafe work habits.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Two-year Technical Degree in a mechanical discipline
- 3 years technical experience
- Training in key aspects of technical trades Competencies Required
- Ability to work in a team environment.

- Ability to train and transfer knowledge to others.
- Flexible, initiative-taking and drive to achieve customer satisfaction goals and targets.
- Strong investigation and diagnostic skills
