SERVICE CONTRACTS MANAGER LCC

At SRP Sales Area Africa we are looking for a savvy and motivated Service Contract Manager to join our team on a 2 year fixed term contract.

The role will report into the BLM: Lifecycle Solutions SRP Africa and will be based in Exxaro Grootegeluk Mine (Lephalale).

Purpose of the role:

  • Maintain the interests of Sandvik SRP in successful delivery of the LCC contractual obligations in partnership with Exxaro Grootegeluk Mine, on mandated Commercial, EHS, ESG and Supplier obligations
  • Manage a team of professionals on the customer site, to successful execute on the technical maintenance requirements and sales administration of the contract
  • Facilitate internal departmental support from various head office departments, Operations, Supply chain, HR, Sales, Product Support and Legal
  • Drive customer satisfaction to enable a successful contract re-negotiation process and facilitate a seamless business transition in the upcoming renewal cycle

The job responsibilities:

  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Interpret contract terms accurately, identify potential risks, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the production team at GG1, GG2, GG4, and GG6.
  • Oversee the servicing and maintenance of screening equipment to ensure optimal OEE
  • Partner with the customer on continuous improvement initiatives including but not limited to; technology deployment, increased productivity and cost containment
  • Monitor and report on equipment operational efficiency metrics and provide countermeasures when performance KPIs are not met
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and protocols on-site.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors and suppliers.
  • Train and mentor junior staff to enhance their technical skills and ensure alignment with production goals.
  • Drive positive employee engagement on site and maintain discipline

Qualifications & Experience Requirements

  • Recognised Engineering qualification (at an NQF Level 7 minimum)
  • Professional ECSA registration and or a GCC (advantageous)
  • Post graduate certification in Engineering / Commercial / Operations / Business management (advantageous)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing a complex Service operation at a mine site
  • Experience in screening processes and advanced equipment management principles in a mining plant environment
  • Have previously carried a legal appointment (2.9.2 or 2.6.1) on a mining operation
  • Previous experience working at an operational level in Contract management at a mine site, either as a supplier or end user (Highly advantageous)

Other Requirements & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of production and screening equipment maintenance process
  • Well-developed understanding of Coal mining applications, plant operations and material movement cycle from drilling to beneficiation
  • Ability to effectively communicate across a wide range of stakeholders in an equipment management organization; Supply chain, Asset Reliability, Technology, Production, EHS, Planning, Finance, Business Excellence and Commercial teams
  • Business awareness of the coal industry performance and the impact of the 2030 Sustainability mandate on Sandvik SRPs business continuity in the short, medium and long term
  • Excellent problem-solving and confident decision-making abilities based on fact
  • Demonstrated strong people leadership and influence ability
  • Commercial savvy and well-developed negotiation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in coordinating results through team members and managing resources efficiently.
  • Advanced RCA and FMEA experience and knowledge
