Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions (SMR) is a leading supplier in equipment and tools, services and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries. To our Rock Tools division and to our planning & materials management department at Patancheru plant (Hyderabad), we are now looking for a Head – Planning and Materials Management to join us.
About your job:
You actively work to bring people, processes, and technology together; aiming to improve our unit and drive development and advancement closely related to our strategy. People involvement is a cornerstone in everything we do, and you create strong engagement among our employees.
In this role you have the full responsibility for the production unit Patancheru supply chain, covering planning, procurement of direct material/subcontracting as well as inbound and outbound logistics. Since PU Patancheru is part of a global supply network you will interact with several stakeholders both within India as well as outside of India.
It is important that you have a clear understanding of how different planning strategies within the PU and among the suppliers can help us to achieve high customer service and at the same time keep our costs down by e.g. ensuring efficient planning of the production. You will work on all three planning horizons, strategic planning, tactical planning as well as operational planning where most of the focus will be on tactical / operational planning.
Sandvik Rock Tools has started our digitalization journey, and the production unit has recently changed to SAP supported platform. A large part of your role will be to understand how your team can fully take benefit from the new processes and support the teams in identifying further improvements and opportunities.
About you:
We’re looking for an experienced leader, with focus on both people and results – someone with a systematic working style, who easily balances operational and strategic topics, and has the ability to drive change and inspire teams. A minimum of 15 years’ experience from a manufacturing engineering organization leading teams and having hands on working experience on planning, inventory management and logistics operations. Good knowledge on SAP S/4HANA modules like planning (MRP & Optimizer), SD, MM and EWM is and distinct advantage.
Worked with a strong EHS cultured organization and understand the importance of a diverse workforce and collaborative settings.

- Good knowledge on SAP modules like planning, SD, MM and EWM
- Good knowledge in machining, manufacturing processes and sub-contracting.
- Good knowledge on direct materials purchase and logistics challenges.
- Knowledge on GST, customs, and local tax regimes.
