Director, Human Resources, Underground Drilling Division

Do you have the drive and desire to make success within Sandvik? At Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions and Division Underground Drilling, we’re now looking for a people, leadership and business-oriented Director, Human Resources to join us.

The Underground Drilling Division is a market leader in providing industry-leading drilling solutions for our customers in the underground mining and tunneling industries. We work in close co-operation with the sales areas within the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions Business Area, to provide the best possible service to our customers. We have strong customer focus and safety as core values. Our operations are located in Tampere (Finland), Lyon (France), Winnipeg (Canada), Jiading (China), and Pune (India).

Your mission

In this position, your key mission is to take overall responsibility for implementing and driving the Division’s HR strategy, including high performance culture development, coaching and leadership capability development, employee engagement and talent initiatives to support the business performance.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Contribute to the development of the organization´s Business Strategy. Provide HR expertise and support to the achievement of strategic goals and participate in implementation of key strategic initiatives.

  • Develop and secure the implementation of the People Strategy within the organization for long term success. Ensure and support competence and people development within the Division as part of the people strategy.

  • Develop, implement and secure follow through on the measures and activities needed to develop a culture of a high performing organization including coaching and supporting key functional leaders.

  • Ensure compliance with global policies, local legislations and labor agreements in relation with local HR resources.

  • Manage and secure follow through of Sandvik core HR policies and processes such as Talent & Succession Management, Performance Management, Diversity & Inclusion and Resourcing.

  • Communicate HR strategy initiatives and process updates to division HR network, managers and employees.

  • Coordinate and drive the division level EHS activities in the division e.g. our safety campaigns.

  • Coordinate and coach the HRBP`s in our hosted Sales Areas.

This is a global role based in Tampere, Finland and you’re reporting to the President of Underground Drilling Division. You’re a member of the Underground Drilling Division management team and Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions HR Management team.

Your profile
You have a suitable educational background (University Degree, Master's Degree) and minimum of ten years’ experience within the HR field and its processes. Industry experience is considered as an advantage, especially exposure to automation, electrification or digitalization. You have excellent communication, engagement and influencing skills. Your way of working is proactive, consultative and business oriented. You have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and business focus with the skill to transfer business priorities into the people strategy and actions. As we act in a global business environment, this role requires fluent English language skills and willingness to travel.

You build trust easily and, as an excellent networker, you can communicate effectively with internal and external partners at all levels of the organization.
