Chief Accounting Officer RO
Chief Accounting Officer with location Bucharest
Goal & Key Accountabilities:
In this senior management position, you will lead a small team of accounting professionals, and you will undertake all relevant aspects, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. The role will support the ambitious growth plans of the organization in Romania by taking Finance and Controlling function to the next level.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee financial activities for the legal entity
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancements within finance and operations functions.
- Prepare annual financial statements ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for financial reporting (GAAP)
- Manage and comply with local, state and government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Responsible for accurate and timely month-end and year end close process (IFRS)
- Prepare local Transfer Pricing Documentation from Group perspective and country legislation
- Lead the company’s budgeting and forecasting processes, working with different departments to ensure accurate financial projections. Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget / forecast.
- Manage Treasury and Risk Management activities and actively control the cashflow of the local operations, debt, equity, and cash reserves
- Communicate with Group Treasury and Group Tax on all financial matters
- Implement and improve financial processes
- Establish and maintain internal financial controls and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Ensure compliance with all the statutory regulations, company policies, and financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
- Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors, banks and government and tax agencies. Lead external and internal audit
- Responsible for legal matters of the company, cases related to taxes, duties, refund claims, etc. contracts with customers, suppliers and group companies
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, ensuring a high level of performance and professional growth.
Key Requirements and skills:
- University degree in Accounting / Business Administration / Economics
- 10+ years of experience in relevant accounting/ financial roles, and 5 years in senior level position , preferably in a group of companies
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and IFRS
- ERP system experience – SAP preferred
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Fluent English
- Organized and capable of managing priorities and deadlines effectively
- Quick learner, adapt easily to new environments, processes, and systems.
