This position will support three Business Units within the SMF portfolio – SigmaNEST, GibbsCAM and Cimatron.
SigmaNEST is a leading provider of innovative end-to-end CAD/CAM software solutions to help professional fabricators increase ROI by optimizing material utilization, machine motion, manpower, and data management.
GibbsCAM designs, develops and delivers CAM software with a proven track record of productivity gains and is firmly positioned as a leading CAM innovator in the manufacturing and manufacturing industries.
Cimatron provides toolmakers with an integrated CAD/CAM solution for the design and manufacture of plastic injection molds and sheet metal stamping dies, as well as programming 2D to 5-Axis milling CNC machines.
About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to build foundational skills. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and a desire to grow within the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare account reconciliations and assist with variance analysis
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation
- Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, including coding and entering into the accounting system
- Verify invoice approvals, match invoices to purchase orders and receipts
- Prepare payment runs, and maintain payment schedules
- Help ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and ad hoc finance projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
- 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Familiarity with accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based accounting tools
- Exposure to financial statement preparation and analysis
