Your performance areas:

The Senior Accountant position will compile financial statements, review financial data, ensure financial compliance and the integrity of the company’s financial records to support company operations in the mining equipment and services industry.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Execute financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, accounts payable, maintaining records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, and other financial activities within the organization.
  • Engage in recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering financial transactions for mining equipment sales and related financial results.
  • Recommend ways to reduce cost and enhance revenue for mining sales and services.
  • Prepare documentation for Internal and External Auditors.
  • Lead the annual audit and tax package and ensure compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) 15 and IFRS 16.
  • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain the general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing the trial balance, and reconciling entries.
  • Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Support the maintenance of a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and enhance the system of controls over accounting transactions.
  • Provide support for the information presented to internal and external auditors for periodic audits.
  • Stay abreast of developments in the mining and construction industries in which the company operates.
  • Collaborate with other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and two (2) years of experience as Accountant, Accounting Analyst, or Financial or Logistics Controller
  • The required two (2) years of experience must have included strategic planning and operations experience in the mining equipment industry. At least one (1) year of the required experience must have included the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements, including balance sheets, profit-and­loss statements, and capital expenditure schedules in the mining equipment industry.
  • Up to 5% international travel required to company facilities in Mexico. May telecommute from home within the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan statistical area (MSA) up to three days per week.
