Application Engineer - Los Angeles
Seco Tools is seeking an Application Engineer in the Los Angeles area. The ideal candidate will collaborate directly with the North American Sales Team, local and global, Product Marketing Organizations of Seco Tools products and services. Support field sales and customers with training, technical knowledge, component processing, process documentation, troubleshooting, and productivity gains as required to secure sales.

PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Field Sales Support:
- Product Expertise: Maintain in-depth knowledge of our products and their applications.
- Market Promotion: Showcase our products in key market segments like Medical, Automotive, Aerospace, and General Engineering.
- Sales Growth: Drive initiatives to boost sales within targeted markets.
- Tool Testing: Coordinate and document tool testing processes.
- Part Processing: Create tool assembly drawings using 2D and 3D software.
- Cost Savings: Develop and present cost-saving ideas to customers.
- Presentations: Deliver engaging presentations on new products, proven solutions, and training topics.
- Customer Identification: Identify key customers, components, and applications to focus on.
- Training: Provide internal product and application training to field sales teams.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
Project Management:
- Coordination: Plan and execute projects, coordinating resources between Sales, Engineering, Custom Tooling, and Component Engineering teams.
- CRM Utilization: Use CRM software to document and drive activities.
Product Portfolio Growth:
- Market Feedback: Provide insights on customer needs, competitive actions, and product development requirements.
- R&D Participation: Contribute to the R&D process for new product concepts.
- Testing and Feedback: Conduct R&D testing and provide detailed feedback.
- Product Introduction: Assist in developing introduction plans for new products, including training and transition plans.
- Innovation Sharing: Support the development of new processing techniques and share successes with other engineers.
Qualifications:
- Project Management: Strong experience in managing projects.
- Aerospace Manufacturing: Experience in manufacturing aerospace components.
- Work Ethic: Commitment to achieving customer expectations and business goals.
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- Travel: Willingness to travel 30-50%.
Experience:
- Education: Degree in marketing, sales, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Industry Experience: 10 years in the metal machining industry, with at least 5 years in sales or applications.
- Training: Ability to train and develop others.
- Sales Growth: Proven ability to drive sales growth at targeted customers.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD/CAM and CNC programming.
Pay Range: 80k-100k
