Job Summary

The role combines responsibilities from application engineering and project management to ensure successful delivery and implementation of innovative CAD/CAM software solutions. The professional will work closely with clients and internal teams to support technical needs, manage project timelines, and deliver high-quality results in the manufacturing and fabrication industries.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Applications Engineering

  • Provide first-level support for customer concerns regarding software installation and operation.

  • Effectively address CAD/CAM technical support needs and communicate solutions via telephone, e-mail, and the internet.

  • Travel to customer manufacturing facilities to install CAD/CAM software and demonstrate its capabilities.

  • Read, understand, and troubleshoot application code, including G-code.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation for issues and resolutions.

Project Management

  • Coordinate client solutions from order acceptance through delivery, implementation, and sign-off.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Liaise between customers and internal teams to ensure timely milestone updates and compliance with project scope.

  • Develop and manage project timelines, including Gantt charts.

  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documentation and recommend process improvements.

Training, Demonstrations, and Documentation

  • Provide training to customers through onsite visits, online sessions, and in-house facilities.

  • Conduct technical sales support demonstrations and competitive analysis.

  • Document and share troubleshooting steps and solutions to improve support efficiency.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Windows, and project management software.

  • Experience with SQL databases (a plus).

  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues effectively.

  • Advanced problem-solving and organizational skills.

Project Management Skills

  • Proven record of successful project and time management.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.

  • Strong client relationship management and coordination skills.

  • Ability to multi-task, manage commitments, and exercise discretion in handling sensitive matters.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Business, or related field preferred.

  • Background in mechanical/manufacturing engineering, IT helpdesk/technical support, or project management.

  • 5+ years of project management or customer relations experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.

  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and CNC programming (preferred).

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

  • Passion for manufacturing, problem-solving, and continuous learning.
