Currently, we have an opening for an Underground Drills Product Specialist. The Underground Drills Product Specialist is responsible for providing quality product support and for developing the technical competencies of the customer and internal personnel. The role is product focused and concentrates on providing guidance and advice on the implementation and strategies for the product range.

What you will be doing

  • Develop and organize product training for sales and service personnel for the respective products.

  • Provide technical training to the service network and customer base on proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting practices, including support for underground drill simulator training.

  • Provide technical support to operators and service personnel on underground drill rigs, including tele-remote and automated drilling solutions.

  • Recommend and develop product or process changes to enhance system performance and meet customer expectations. Build and maintain customer relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to determine and implement solutions.

  • Actively gather reliability, operating cost, and operator feedback, and continuously relay this information to the Equipment Division Product Line to ensure offerings remain competitive throughout their life cycle.

  • Investigate warranty claims proactively and reactively to enhance customer satisfaction and provide feedback to factories.

  • Participate in safety issue reviews and investigations and implement product safety and service bulletins.

  • Monitor test results for new products and implement improvements as necessary.

  • Assist factories with field-testing and trials of new products and updated components to ensure proper and safe operation.

  • Work with customers to develop comprehensive system project plans, schedules, and commissioning activities.

  • Perform equipment installations, project commissioning, and product demonstrations safely and proactively.

  • Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to resolve issues.

  • Assist customers with parts interpretations and recommend stock holdings.

  • Develop and maintain customer relationships to ensure a positive experience and loyalty to the Sandvik brand.

  • Visit customers to provide in-depth product knowledge, including developing relationships with key clients.

What you will bring along

Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of maintenance and service operations, with a strong health and safety focus.

  • Familiarity with Sandvik performance management processes, inventory, and sales systems.

  • Expertise in analyzing and managing data using relevant systems.

Skills:

  • High-level of attention to detail with excellent analysis and diagnostic capabilities.

  • Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and organization; project management experience is considered an asset.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging at all levels; bilingual in English and French is considered an asset.

  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills to influence stakeholders and resolve issues.

  • Ability to train, mentor, and transfer knowledge effectively.

  • Competence in navigating computerized systems and tools.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Flexible, self-motivated, and accountable.

  • Professionalism, honesty, and integrity in all interactions.

  • Ability to travel frequently and work in varied environments – including underground.

  • Ability to work cross-divisional on a Global scale.

Education/ Experience:

  • Red Seal Trades Qualification or Technical Degree/Diploma in Electrical Discipline, or equivalent.

  • Minimum five (5) years of technical experience.

  • Experience working with heavy-duty equipment, and underground mining equipment would be an asset.
