About the role:
We are looking for a full-time permanent Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead a team and provide focussed support to PAU AM sales, service and project management team to ensure internal and customer requirements are consistently met.
Specifically, you will:
Provide engineering support in the form of analysis and design, engineering checking and sign off of designs and drawings
Lead a team of mechanical engineers providing engineering solutions to the aftermarkets service team
To deliver all engineering projects on time, to the required quality and to ensure costs are controlled as per final design estimates
Plan and manage mechanical design activities to align with project goals and objectives.
Attend and contribute to internal and external meetings and project management needs and provide reports/ information as required to assist in the successful completion of projects.
Review client requests and enquiries via the Aftermarkets Service team. Provide solutions and technical support for existing install base.
To be successful in the above duties, you will have:
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Reliability engineering
5+ years minimum work experience with more than 2 years in a project engineering role
Ability to identify and solve complex problems/issues
Solid understanding of vibrating equipment design focusing on the mechanical and dynamic components (i.e. stress, strain, natural resonance, etc.) suitable for role
Proven stakeholder relationship and influencing skills
Leadership and personnel motivation skills
Solid understanding of project management
Good knowledge & application of safety rules and practices in design, operations and maintenance
Sound knowledge of relevant local engineering statutory regulations and standards
Possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Clear and concise communication skills (both written and verbal)
Proven ability to review and critique engineering drawings
