Business Development Analyst - P2
Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is a global leading supplier in equipment and tools, parts, service and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries. The Role:
There are various steps in the sales process of the organization's total value offerings. The role will assist the business in decision making, strategy formulation, project management, forecasting and reporting, and providing front-line sales support for non-account-managed customers.
The purpose of the role will be to:
Conduct market research and feasibility studies to analyse the viability of current and alternative business development opportunities.
Maximize market information, historical business performance data and opportunities within CRM to generate financial forecasts for business and bonus targets for salespeople.
Key Responsibilities:
To maximize market information, historical business performance data and opportunities within CRM, the role will support users in data maintenance by maintaining an extensive understanding of the master data management (MDM) system and working relationships with all stakeholders.
Collect, compile, verify, and analyse financial, competitive, sales, marketing, and other information about potential business partners; new markets, products, and services; and other business opportunities.
Provide senior management and sales team with accurate and timely information for strategic, operational decisions.
Prepare documents and materials (for example, reports, presentations, information packages) for meetings and negotiations with potential clients and business partners ensuring that the information provided is accurate and appropriate for internal and external distribution.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of principles and concepts related to the organization's value offering across the equipment life cycle to support colleagues to grow and increase their capacity to deliver.
Responsible for the coordination and administration of proposal/tenders including the compiling of business cases and providing support in the management of the associated CRM opportunities as part of the sales process. Review the business case before submitting it to the BLM or Key Account Managers.
Develop reports and dashboards that provide users with insights about their business, helping them understand the data they have access to and how the data assists them in their respective tasks and decision making.
Supports the sales teams in ensuring up to date management of opportunities & opportunity information to enable sales pipeline accuracy.
Manage data cleansing exercises and interact with a wide range of stakeholders to promote the update and use of the CRM system.
Monitors usage of the sales support system (ERP systems, CRM, Aroura, MySandvik, PowerBI, QlikView, Fleet Gap Tool, Fleet Analytics, Service Proposal Financial Business Cases (Excel) and all Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft projects) and develop methods (reports/dashboards etc.) to engage users further to continue using the system to maximum benefit.
Play a critical role in the ongoing development, improvement, and enhancement of formal processes and ways of working for strategy development, project management, forecasting and reporting, and providing front-line sales support for non-account-managed customers.
Identify, qualify and quantify process optimization requirements and provide key inputs into sales processes across the sales area business, ensuring they are being utilized at all required points in the customer life cycle and aftermarket product offerings.
Provide recommendations for areas on improvement at both a local sales area level and feedback to Divisions.
Develops tracking & follow up tools/reports to ensure that our sales area forecast aligns to the CRM data to ensure accuracy for Global reporting in line with key global strategic initiatives and to generate financial predictions for business and bonus targets for salespeople.
Keep up to date with upcoming system updates and train users in system changes as needed.

Required competencies:
Experience in evaluating different solutions where you have been able to articulate the pros and cons of each in order to help deliver the best outcome.
Tender/Proposal documentation preparation & submission.
Competent with Excel and other Microsoft programs.
Financial Business cases.
Able to communicate clearly and effectively to Senior and Junior teams.
Ability to train and help upskill other CRM Users.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
A strong working knowledge of suitable CRM technologies and other sales support tools.
Report writing skills.
Highly developed interpersonal skills.
High level of initiative, drive and determination to achieve goals and targets.
Ability to work as part of an integrated, broad team and under strict deadlines.
Basic ability to commercially review contracts.
Document control & highly process orientated.
Experience:
2 - 6 years in a similar role
Demonstrated background working with and manipulating CRM technology, (ideally Salesforce).
Demonstrated experience working in a similar role.
A solid understanding of CRM best practice and experience in evaluating solutions.
Comfortable managing large volumes of data.
Ability to multi-task and work in a team.
Good demonstrable knowledge of commercial and business principles.
Must be very adept in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
Education:
Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications or Business (ideally).
Experience with Salesforce (CRM) is a distinct advantage
Licences & certificates:
Driver’s License.
Necessary documentation to facilitate travel.
Other Information:
Fluency in English required.
Must be an excellent communicator with ability to integrate well into teams and work toward achieving team results (results orientated).
Ability to cope with pressure, change resistance and tight deadlines.
Ability to handle multiple tasks flexibly and effectively and deliver work in a timely manner.
