Strategy Associate
Sandvik Machining Solutions (SMS) is on an exciting growth journey as we further develop and implement our growth-oriented strategy and redefine our operating model. We’re now looking for a Strategy Associate to play a central role in facilitating the way for success while developing your industry experience and business judgement.
Joining our experienced Strategy and Business development team, you’ll gain extraordinary insights and exposure to our business and its ambitious leaders. We welcome you to an open, agile and action-oriented environment, where we set the bar high and achieve our goals together.
About your job
As a member of our team, you take part in strategic initiatives, M&A work and projects of importance within SMS and our divisions, providing analyses and conclusions. You produce regular updates on our position and performance versus the industry and competitors – tracking and forecasting market development, benchmarking competitor performance, and conducting trend and situation analyses. As a team member of strategic initiatives or M&A projects, you contribute to drawing conclusions on business implications, strategic choices and areas of action.
As part of operationalizing our strategy, you also assist in planning and structuring initiatives and action areas, developing decision-ready business cases, and proposing, collecting and assessing milestones and metrics for execution. By being an active contributor in your team and across functions, you enable open and effective collaboration towards joint targets.
The location for this position is Stockholm and you report directly to the Head of Strategy at SMS.
Your profile
We’re looking for someone with a relevant degree, such as an MSc in Business or Engineering, combined with a few years’ experience of working with strategy and business development at a leading consulting firm or industrial company. You have a track record of successfully contributing to strategy, M&A and/or market analysis projects, as well as managing your own work. It’s a plus if you already understand the industrial sector. Acting in a global environment calls for good communication skills in English, while knowledge of Swedish is advantageous.
As a self-starter and initiative taker, you’re not afraid of taking on challenges and seizing opportunities to develop new insights. Using your strong strategic and analytical skills, you easily create top quality quantitative analyses, presentation material and documents. You’re a true team player with curiosity and respect for people, driven by succeeding together. With excellent communication skills and a sense of integrity, you achieve trust and results through openness and fair play.
