Quality Manager, Surface Drilling Division
Surface Drilling Division within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is a world leading supplier of surface mining and construction equipment and related services. We are now looking for an active and engaging Quality Manager to join our division. This key position is full-time, permanent position and based in Tampere, Finland.
About your role
As Quality Manager, Surface Drilling Division, you will be responsible for leading, coordinating and setting direction for cross-functional quality work and initiatives within the division, including manufacturing operations in Finland, India and possible future locations. You will focus on setting quality targets, developing quality reporting and KPIs, coordinating ISO-9001 certification, and ensuring efficient customer issue resolution through the Continuous Product Improvement process. You will also participate in supplier and internal audits as well as customer visits to maintain high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. In this role you will be a member of Supply Chain Leadership team and a Coordinator for cross-functional Quality Team. The role requires travelling to our sites and customers in different parts of the world.
About your key responsibilities
Cross-Functional Quality Coordination: Lead and coordinate quality within a matrix organization in the division and different locations. You will coordinate the cross functional Quality team, ensuring effective collaboration across different functions.
Division Quality Targets and Roadmap: Collaborate with the cross-functional Quality team to set quality targets and develop a roadmap to enhance customer satisfaction and end-to-end quality.
Lead the Supply Chain Quality Team: Provide leadership, support and direction to the Supply Chain Quality team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Quality Manager, Supply Chain will be reporting to this position and being responsible for production quality and supplier quality.
Continuous Product Improvement Process: Lead and coordinate the CPIP process to ensure efficient resolution of customer issues and enhance customer satisfaction.
Quality Reporting and KPIs: Develop and maintain divisional Quality reporting and KPIs to provide a comprehensive view of divisional quality and customer quality experience.
ISO-9001 Certification: Coordinate the ISO-9001 certification process within the Division, ensuring compliance with standards and continuous improvement.
Supplier and Internal Audits: Participate in supplier and internal audits to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
Customer Visits: Conduct customer visits to understand their expectations and gather feedback to drive quality improvements.
Quality Culture Development: Develop and strengthen the division's quality culture, promoting best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
About your background and what we find important
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Previous experience leading change in a matrix organization and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Proven experience in leading quality initiatives within a supply chain or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of ISO-9001 standards and certification processes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
Experience with customer issue resolution and improving customer engagement and satisfaction through quality improvements.
Suitable educational background; Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Ability to work fluently in English.
