Job profile

As Senior Electrical Engineer you are responsible for Design and Development of mining equipment, create optimized E3 symbols/ models/ Schematics/ Drawings, BOM for Electrical / Electronic sub-systems used in mining equipment and to ensure the quality of drawings produced by Design Engineers. This job involves providing engineering support to various Divisions within Sandvik Mining in Current Product Engineering, New product Development Engineering and Order based Engineering activities.

The main responsibilities are as follows:

  • Involved in design & development of mining equipment.
  • Develop Subsystem designs, Validate Machine specifications & Select Components.
  • Process evolution and continuous improvement.
  • Optimize joint development efforts through appropriate database use and project design.
  • Creation of BOM / ECN and release of drawings for production.
  • Creation of right-level-of-detail electrical harness/layout and circuit drawings in E3.
  • Concept Evaluation and Detailed design Reviews with stakeholders.
  • Ensure Tasks are assigned and executed to meet the project requirements.
  • Ensure Quality and Delivery of Electrical / Electronic Item data and drawings as per Global Standards.
  • Ensure Quality and optimization of E3 symbols, Components, and schematics for electrical items.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering departments to understand their needs and propose possible solutions.
  • Communicate results and ideas to key decision makers.

Your profile

You have a university degree in Electrical / Electronics engineering / master’s in Electrical engineering (or equivalent) and between 7-10 years of experience into Electrical Engineering Design and Development. You have the needed relevant experience as per the following.

  • Design or modify electrical/electronic engineering assemblies, layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications.
  • Hands on experience in Circuit analysis, Circuit verification, Sub system design, Components sizing and selection (PLC, Sensors, Motors, VFD, Switch gears, safety components).
  • Troubleshoots Electrical systems and proposes solutions.
  • Select components considering performance, cost, and service.
  • Communicate with customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units.
  • Knowledge of International Standards pertaining to electrical design, awareness of International Electrical safety & Design standards (NEC, IEC, DGMS, VDE etc.,).
  • Working knowledge of Low voltage (380,440V, 600V) electrical systems.
  • Should have good knowledge of Mechanical/Electric/Hydraulic interfaces.
  • Exposure to UG/NX Teamcenter integrated environment, Auto Cad tool is an added advantage.
  • Good ability to work within the team
