Lead DevOps Engineer

Business Unit Automation is the home of AutoMine® - the world leading solution for autonomous mining. We are a global organization and developing fully automated and robotic mining technologies for mobile machinery, including machine vision, machine learning and artificial intelligence with an aim to revolutionize the underground and surface mining industry.

We are currently looking for a driven Lead DevOps Engineer to join our Control Systems Team in Automation R&D. The position is based in Tampere, Finland at our home office in Tulli Business Park located in the city center. This is an incredible opportunity for you to join our Business Unit Automation team and be part of the digital transformation in the mining industry, with projects ranging from embedded software for self-driving industrial vehicles, AI and machine learning. Your mission

You will join our Control Systems Team focusing on bringing our DevOps tooling to the next level. Our DevOps toolchain is an essential part of Sandvik software development process. Your work has a significant impact on developer experience and productivity across Sandvik. You have strong knowledge, vision, and passion to drive improvements within the domain.

Smoothly and reliably working DevOps system is your top priority. You have passion to make software development process more productive and satisfactory for the users. Your service-oriented and solution-driven approach helps you to solve complex problems. You want to coach and lead DevOps colleagues from other organizations towards a more harmonized and efficient solution.

Your Profile

You have a suitable degree and strong prior experience working in the specified context. You will complement our team with hands-on experience in defining and developing the DevOps toolchain and processes. To be successful in this role you already have strong knowledge in some areas and willingness to learn others. Our existing toolchain utilizes technologies like Jenkins, Azure, Terraform, VMWare, CMake and jFrog artifactory but future direction is heavily in your hands.

We value your experience of working in complex and versatile technology development in international business environment. You can specify, plan, and document your ideas and you have a proactive systematic and structured way of working. You have good verbal and writing skills in English.

You can establish strong professional relationships directly with relevant stakeholders and communicate with them at all levels. You understand wider business needs and find innovative solutions to complex problems. You can work proactively and systematically in a fast-changing business environment with a strong success focus.
